Earthwork Superintendent

Minnesota State Colleges and Universities seeks a professional to serve as Director, Design and Construction at the Office of the Chancellor, Saint Paul, Minnesota. Responsibilities encompass facilities at 32 colleges and universities statewide, located at 54 campus sites with over 25 million square feet of space. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities, the Director works in a collaborative style with institutional academic and administrative officers, system office personnel, and the architect/engineer consultant and construction industry to accomplish institutional and system-wide objectives and to provide vision and leadership for: 

-  Management of the statewide capital projects execution program
-  Development of policies, standards, procedures and reporting protocols and mechanisms for facilities design and construction,
   and the major repair program
-  Development of innovative and expedited procurement/contracting methods
-  Evaluating and selecting alternative project delivery methods
-  Review and approval of project designs, cost estimates
-  Oversight of campus construction activities

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or related field. At least ten years experience with project delivery within major capital improvement programs at an institutional level; project management of multi-million dollar capital programs; and large scale facilities management activities, including at least five years in a supervisory capacity. Demonstrated capabilities and achievements in design and construction contract administration; experience in capital project financing strategies, including those funded through public bond financing methods. Effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated strong leadership in a collaborative decision making environment are required.

Preferred Qualifications: An advanced degree in an applicable field and professional registration is preferred, as is experience in higher education or similar large multi-institution organizational settings.
