Construction Industry Labor & Employment Counsel
AGC of Minnesota is committed to providing strategic leadership on workforce shortages and the increasing use of technology in construction. Through a MSPWins grant and in collaboration with industry stakeholders, the Minnesota Construction Industry Workforce Alliance (MCIWA) initiative began and, as its roots took hold, grew into CI-LEC, a labor-management committee governed by members of unions who contribute to CI-LEC and contractors signatory to those agremeents.

CI-LEC is focusing on three strategies:

Strategy #1 – Thought Leadership: Position CI-LEC as the statewide thought leader influencing future construction industry workforce needs.

Strategy #2 – Workforce Recruitment and Retention: By using data analytics, CI-LEC will be able to develop a better alignment between workforce needs and the standards used for talent development.

Strategy #3 – Organizational Sustainability: Establish and maintain a professional, dynamic and financially sound organization.
