On a jobsite, the first few minutes of an emergency belong to whoever is standing there. Not EMS - your crew. This half-day session gives your people the training and the confidence to act in those minutes, whether it's a cardiac arrest, a serious laceration, or an exposure incident. Cintas instructors lead the class with hands-on practice and a 1:1 student-to-mannequin ratio, so everyone gets real reps and personal coaching - not a video and a quiz.
TOPICS COVERED:
• Recognize and treat adult emergencies prior to EMS arrival
• Determine when and how to administer basic first aid
• Learn to provide chest compressions and breaths
• Overview of bloodborne diseases and exposure control plan
• Effectively use an AED (automated external defibrillator)
• Protection against infection and proper clean-up procedure
WHY ATTEND?
• It's a compliance requirement, not just a good idea. OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens standard (29 CFR 1910.1030(g)(2)(i)) requires employers to train each employee with occupational exposure - at no cost to the employee and during working hours.
• Every crew should have a trained responder. Ambulance response takes minutes that a cardiac arrest victim doesn't have. Effective bystander CPR can double or triple survival odds.
• Hands-on, not hypothetical. 1:1 student-mannequin ratio means real practice with compressions, breaths, and AED operation - plus female mannequin accessories for realistic training.
• Half a day, done before lunch. 7:00–10:30 AM at the AGC office, and your people are back on the job the same morning.
• One class covers three needs. First Aid, CPR/AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens in a single session.
