ABOUT Chelsea:
I decided to make a leap of faith and join Ironworkers Local 512 after spending 7 years in the corporate world of finance. Working behind a computer and feeling like another number was no longer satisfying my need for a challenging career.
I was inspired by my father, a retired Ironworker with a 26-year-long career, and knew it was going to be a difficult transition, but I had no idea how rewarding the work was going to be.
Being part of my union has transformed my life in ways I never expected. It has provided not just a career, but mentorship, opportunity, and a community that stands behind one another. As women, we are capable. We are building more than structures; we are building representation and opening doors for the next generation.
