Building Leaders is designed for experienced construction professionals who are ready for more—more influence, more responsibility, and more impact.
This six-session experience from AGC of Minnesota helps you refine how you lead, strengthen your presence, and step fully into the leader others already see in you. You’ll learn alongside peers who are in the same season of leadership—people who are navigating real responsibility, real pressure, and real opportunity—and you’ll leave with practical tools you can use immediately in your role.
About Building Leaders
AGC of Minnesota’s advanced leadership development program for experienced construction professionals. Building Leaders is designed for professionals who have built experience in the industry and are now responsible for leading teams, driving performance, and influencing culture. Through immersive, applied learning and expert facilitation, participants strengthen their ability to lead people, manage complexity, and drive results in a rapidly changing construction environment.
What You'll Experience
The Building Leaders experience focuses on the real challenges of leading teams, projects, and people in today’s construction industry. Participants strengthen emotional intelligence, communication, and decision-making while building practical tools to lead with clarity, confidence, and consistency. Key topics include strengthening leadership presence and understanding digital body language; building emotional intelligence and relationship management skills; developing coaching and feedback abilities; and leading through conflict and change, including on-the-job de-escalation and real-time problem-solving.
The experience then expands into how leaders build and sustain high-performing teams through power and rank dynamics, psychological safety, trust, accountability, and performance. Participants also explore the business side of leadership through Beyond the Bid, gaining insight into project performance and financial impact, along with cybersecurity readiness in today’s construction environment. Everything builds toward one outcome: stronger leadership presence and the ability to lead with clarity, confidence, and impact in real-world situations.
Program Overview
Program Dates: November 2026 – May 2027
Format: Monthly sessions held throughout Minnesota, typically beginning Thursday afternoon and concluding Friday morning.
Tuition: $5,000 (Expert instruction, accommodations, meals, event access, site tours, headshots, and all program materials)
Who Should Apply?
Building Leaders is designed for experienced construction professionals who are actively supervising teams, managing projects, and influencing performance and culture. Ideal candidates include those who supervise teams or lead project execution, have established industry experience and credibility, are preparing for senior leadership or expanded responsibility, want to strengthen their leadership presence and influence, and are ready to lead beyond day-to-day responsibilities into broader organizational impact. Leadership Blueprint alumni status is not required.
Eligibility: Must be employed by an AGC of Minnesota member firm and submit a completed nomination and application.
Please note: Submission of an application does not guarantee placement in the program. All nominations and applications will be reviewed after the application deadline of August 21, 2026.

To be nominated for Building Leaders, both forms below must be completed separately. The form on the left is completed by individuals wishing to participate in the program. The form on the right is completed by a supervisor nominating them.
