NOTE: Due to the high demand for participation in Building Leaders, application responses are scored for quality and effort. Please consider providing as much information as possible regarding why you (or the individual you are nominating) should be considered.

To be nominated for Building Leaders, both forms below must be completed separately. The form on the left is completed by individuals wishing to participate in the program. The form on the right is completed by a supervisor nominating them.

Designed by AGC of Minnesota, Building Leaders is a high-impact, six-session leadership journey for experienced construction leaders who are looking to lead not only projects, but entire organizations. What You’ll Learn
Through six transformative sessions, you’ll deepen your understanding of what it means to be the business—building trust, communicating with purpose, and leading with emotional intelligence. You’ll develop strategies for forming winning teams, leading meetings effectively, and creating a culture of safety, inclusion, and performance.
You’ll also explore timely industry topics like construction claims strategies, risk management, bonding, cybersecurity, and leading diverse teams. With interactive activities, accountability partners, and practical tools for real-world leadership, you’ll leave this program ready to lead at the next level—with confidence and clarity.
Who Should Apply
This program is ideal for mid-level and experienced construction professionals who are already guiding teams or projects and are on a clear path to senior leadership. Leadership Blueprint alumni will receive an extra point in their application, though alumni status is not required to be eligible. If you're ready to grow, evolve, and lead with greater influence—this is your next step.
Program Overview
- Timeline: November–May
- Format: Monthly sessions (Thursday afternoon–Friday morning) held in various locations across Minnesota
- Final Session: Graduation and celebration in the Twin Cities area
- Eligibility: Must be employed by an AGC of MN member firm
- Tuition Includes: Expert instruction, accommodations, meals, event access, site tours, headshots, and all program materials ($5,000)
- Enrollment: Space is limited—apply early to secure your spot
