Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
AGC recognizes the significant role and enhanced impact that diversity, equity & inclusion play in the current and future vitality of the construction industry. In 2020, AGC of Minnesota created a Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) position. In this role, Yolanda Y. McIntosh serves as a catalyst and a conduit in partnering members with resources, opportunities, and advocacy to further support diverse businesses and communities of color in their concerted efforts to compete for projects and provide employment in all aspects of today’s vast and expansive industry.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council
AGC has created a member-led Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council. The DEI Council serves as a resource for the association to create best practices that foster minority and women owned businesses, employment opportunities, and business and employment requirements and standards.
2023 Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award
from AGC of America
AGC of America presented the 2023 Chapter Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award to AGC of Minnesota, citing AGC of Minnesota's work in fostering inclusion among membership, publicly recognizing member firms for their DEI successes, increasing participation in Culture of CARE pledges, and highlighting mental health and suicide prevention throughout the year.
Culture of Care
AGC is leading the charge in ensuring members are equipped with the resources they need to combat harassment, hazing and bullying. Initiated as a partnership between AGC of America and AGC of Washington, Culture of Care is an initiative created to advance the construction industry as the industry of choice for diverse and talented workers by building inclusive work environments in construction firms nationwide.
