The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Association of General Contractors Minnesota Chapter is committed to advancing the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the construction industry.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
AGC acknowledges the pivotal role that DEI principles play in shaping the present and future vitality of our industry. With the establishment of the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) position in 2020, we are dedicated to serving as catalysts and conduits. Our aim is to facilitate partnerships among our members, leveraging resources, opportunities, and advocacy to bolster diverse businesses and communities of color. We recognize their invaluable contributions and seek to empower them to compete for projects and provide employment opportunities across all facets of our expansive field.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Council
To realize our commitment, AGC has instituted a member-led Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Council. This council serves as a crucial resource for our association, driving the creation of best practices that nurture minority and women-owned businesses. We are dedicated to fostering employment opportunities and establishing inclusive business and employment standards that transcend barriers, whether they be legislative, representational, or procedural. We pledge to create and promote transparent processes, ensuring equitable access to our organization and resources that facilitate sustained engagement and growth for all member companies.
In essence, our mission is to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within AGC Minnesota and the broader construction community. Through collaborative efforts, advocacy, and a steadfast commitment to our principles, we strive to foster an industry landscape that is truly reflective of the rich diversity and talent within our society.

2023 Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award
from AGC of America
AGC of America presented the 2023 Chapter Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award to AGC of Minnesota, citing AGC of Minnesota's work in fostering inclusion among membership, publicly recognizing member firms for their DEI successes, increasing participation in Culture of CARE pledges, and highlighting mental health and suicide prevention throughout the year.
Culture of Care
AGC is leading the charge in ensuring members are equipped with the resources they need to combat harassment, hazing and bullying. Initiated as a partnership between AGC of America and AGC of Washington, Culture of Care is an initiative created to advance the construction industry as the industry of choice for diverse and talented workers by building inclusive work environments in construction firms nationwide.
