Committees & Forums

All members are invited and encouraged to engage with industry peers to discuss key issues impacting the industry and your business.

In addition to the committees/forums listed below, five joint AGC/MnDOT technical committees provide members with a biannual opportunity to communicate with MnDOT staff and fellow contractors on contractor issues, as well as hear project and program updates relevant to the subject area. These committees continue to foster AGC member partnerships with MnDOT and allow participants to network and share information. Each committee meets once in the fall and once in the spring in St. Paul. If you would like to participate on any of them, please contact Laura Ziegler.

Technical Committees:
  • Alternate Procurement/Project Delivery
  • Bituminous (facilitated in conjunction with the MN Asphalt Pavement Association)

CHASE Committee

Committee Purpose

While the CHASE program has proven effective, and contractor participation has grown continually over the past twenty years, programmatic adjustments to reflect a changing industry are warranted. Evolution in project delivery, contracting methods, safety specifications, workforce demographics, training and experience levels, and owner expectations necessitate a review by CHASE stakeholders to make it even more effective and relevant. It is in this frame of reference that the CHASE committee will review the tiered requirements for CHASE membership and make program changes reflective of current best practices.

Committee Goal

The oversight of the CHASE program, identified as the AGC of MN representative in the original partnership agreement, can no longer remain in the hands of an individual director.  A single person cannot accurately represent the interests and idiosyncrasies of a variety of company specialties and cultures.  Therefore, to improve CHASE, AGC is hereby transferring ownership of the CHASE program and its requirements to the CHASE committee. This change will facilitate discussion about needed program changes, will broaden CHASE ownership to better reflect AGC’s diverse membership and ensure its continued existence for further generations.

Committee consists of seven (7) individuals.  3 members will be annually elected to serve with a minimum duration of two years as elected by the CHASE committee. Applications open in the fall if you’re interested. Refer to the Charter for additional information.

Contracts Committee

AGC's Contracts Committee is composed of general contractors and subcontractors, as well as in-house and outside construction law attorneys. The committee meets each year to review industry practices, changes in the law, areas where contracts may be misconstrued or are not clear, other changes in conditions or needs, and the value of no changes to maintain continuity in the contracts. The draft contracts are then circulated to a second, larger group for more feedback, and returned to the committee for final review. Finalized form agreements are published on AGC's contracts website and licensed for use.

The goal of the Contracts Committee is to provide form contracts that are fair to all parties, representative of good industry practices, reliable, easy to work with, and understandable.

Sustainability Forum

New in 2026, the AGC of MN Sustainability Forum is a collaborative group designed to bring together sustainability leaders from commercial construction firms across the region.

We invite you to join us on the last Friday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at AGC of MN to engage in meaningful conversations about advancing sustainability in commercial construction. While topics may eventually expand to horizontal construction, initial topics will be more geared towards vertical construction markets. Any AGC contractor is welcome to attend.

This every other month forum creates space for contractors to:

  • Improve waste diversion and material reuse strategies
  • Navigate greenhouse gas accounting and organizational reporting
  • Evaluate and share insights on project and company-level sustainability tracking software
  • Discuss emerging policies, owner expectations, and market trends
  • Exchange practical lessons learned from real-world projects

The Sustainability Forum is more than a meeting. It’s a working group of peers committed to collaboration, innovation, and measurable progress. Together, we will address challenges, develop practical concepts, and identify solutions that improve sustainability outcomes across projects and organizations.
