ABOUT carolyn:
I’m a labor foreman and I’ve been a laborer since 2006. My brother told me about the trades when he saw that I needed work-life balance. I was juggling multiple jobs, college classes and being a single mom, all while barely keeping my head above water financially. The union provided that balance, along with health benefits, and helped me get back on my feet.
I like being laborer because I get to be on my feet and work with my hands and I continue to learn more all the time. The practical knowledge you get in the construction industry transfers to daily life outside of work and has helped me to be more independent. I’m so glad I took the leap of faith and joined. I’m grateful to be working for a company and be a part of a union that goes above and beyond to support and develop their people.
