Sowles Co. dates back to 1933 under the name Waylander - Peterson Company. By the late 1960s, under the leadership of Larry Sowles, the L.H. Sowles Company had become the largest steel erector in the state. This family-owned business has participated in almost every high-rise building as well as power plants, medical buildings, and parking structures as well as performing plant maintenance. Sowles is an AISC Certified Advanced Steel Erector, and is audited yearly for quality control. Sowles has division offices in Billings, MT and Portland, OR.
