About Kate:

My name is Katelyn Zelko and I'm a Journeyworker for the Cement Masons and a Graduate of the Local 633 Cement Masons Apprenticeship Training Program. I have been in the union for over 6 years working for various contractors, and I've been in this industry for 10 years.

As my skills have progressed, I’ve gained interest in becoming more involved in my union to help impact our apprentices by focusing on mentoring. I'm currently working as an instructor at our training center to help our apprentices and particularly female apprentices navigate the construction industry and be successful in this viable career path!! I have a 12-year-old son who keeps me busy with sports and extra-curricular activities. He is my drive behind my strong work ethic and I'm hoping he sees the importance of hard work to achieve the lifestyle we live. I'm drawn to our industry and love the fact I get to contribute in building this great state of Minnesota!!
