About Lisa:

I actually started in the architecture industry. My degree is from Clemson University in Architecture. I worked for an AE firm for 3 years and was laid off in the last recession. I by chance found my way into the construction industry through a temp agency and was hired as an Assistant Coordinator. I spent two years on site, in the buildings as they were being built around me. I utilized my relationships in the field and I asked lots of questions. I learned so much from the Superintendent, field staff, and a few project managers.

After two years, I realized I had an interest in Estimating. The most satisfying parts of my job are knowing the job intimately, being able to explain the budget to design partners and clients in order to get decisions made, and seeing the final product created. One of my desires for the industry is to see more women and people of color present by choice, by providing more opportunities to enter and succeed in the industry.
