AGC Safety Alliance Forum: March 2026

Open to all AGC members, the AGC Safety Alliance is in full swing, with Forums held monthly, September through May. Forums will be held in a hybrid format unless the topic/content doesn't support online participation.

Cranes are an essential piece of equipment in our industry. They come with an incredible amount of responsibility for the contractor controlling the site. Scott Richert with Travelers is going to be covering responsibilities in lift operations and considerations when it comes to effective lift planning. Recommend inviting Supervisors responsible for overseeing crane picks on their projects to this meeting.

More about Scott: 
Mr. Richert has over 40 years of Insurance and Construction Industry Risk Management experience. He has been a Regional Director and Field Manager, managing 6-10 Risk Control consultants in the Upper Midwest, servicing Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

His current responsibilities include Risk Control Product development, Travelers National Technical Manager for Fall Protection and Crane Specialist. He has personally serviced and consulted over a dozen of the ENR’s top 200 Contractors. His training expertise includes Crisis Management, Fall Protection, Trenching & Excavation, Scaffolding, Work Zone, Mobile Crane Management, Site Sense, Site Sense II, Daily Safety Management, Accident Investigation, Professional Crane Operations and Lift Planning Fundamentals.

His experience includes work on large heavy/highway, bridge, tunnel, commercial building, high rise, wind, educational, stadium/arena, pipeline, underground, manufacturing, paper mill, automotive, data storage and refinery projects.

In addition to the Certified Safety Professional, Associate in Risk Management, and Associate in Loss Control Management designations, Scott has passed the NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator written core and specialty exams and well as NCCCO Tower Crane Operator exam.
He is also a Certified Mobile Crane Lift Director through NCCCO and has Bachelors Degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Minnesota State University - Mankato
