
Mental Wellbeing Award
The purpose of the Mental Wellbeing Award is:
- To recognize an AGC of Minnesota member company that has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and overall wellbeing in the construction industry.
- To celebrate and elevate practices that align with the Minnesota Construction Mental Health Alliance’s mission: making mental health a construction safety standard through systemic change and leadership action.
Eligilibity
- Open to all AGC of Minnesota member companies.
- Recognizes company-wide initiatives (not individual projects or programs only).
- Must demonstrate impact within the last 12 months.

- Leadership & Culture Change
- Visible leadership commitment to integrating mental health as a safety priority.
- Actions taken by executives, managers, and supervisors to model openness and reduce stigma.
- Alignment with Culture of CARE values: inclusivity, respect, and psychological safety.
- Integration into Safety Practices
- Demonstrated steps to embed mental health into existing safety systems (e.g., safety meetings, project planning, jobsite protocols).
- Inclusion of mental wellbeing in toolbox talks, jobsite orientations, or company-wide safety weeks.
- Systemic—not one-time—approach.
- Education & Awareness
- Efforts to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health and suicide prevention.
- Participation in or hosting of industry-wide events (e.g., Construction Suicide Prevention Week, Alliance initiatives).
- Providing training, resources, or peer support programs for employees at all levels.
- Support Systems & Resources
- Access to resources like Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), mental health hotlines, or peer advocate programs.
- Demonstrated use of external partnerships (e.g., Alliance tools, community organizations, Mayo Clinic, national campaigns).
- Efforts to extend resources to families and subcontractors, when possible.
- Innovation & Impact
- Innovative practices that can serve as a model for other companies..
- Evidence of measurable impact: employee participation, improved awareness, reduced stigma, increased use of support resources.).
- Storytelling examples (impact stories, testimonials, or data) that show how lives have been positively affected.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTAL
- All applications must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025
- All applicants must be in good standing with AGC of Minnesota for at least one year.
- Submissions must relate to activities or initiatives conducted in the last twelve months.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How are the entries judged?
Entries will be judged by the AGC of Minnesota Culture of CARE Judging Committee and representatives from the Minnesota Construction Mental Health Alliance, based on the information provided in the application.
Judging evaluations will be weighted equally across the five criteria (Leadership, Integration, Education, Support, Innovation). Strong preference for initiatives that demonstrate both measurable impact and transferable practices other companies can adopt.
When and where will the awards be presented?
The 2025 Awards will be presented at the AGC Honors event on January 14, 2026.
